The purpose of the study was to explore the effect and the application of the multiple
rehabilitation model for psychosocial disabilities in the psychiatric hospital. All participants
received medical and vocational services from a psychiatric hospital. The multiple rehabilitation
model for psychosocial disabilities included basic ADL and IADL rehabilitation programs, cognitive
rehabilitation programs, community rehabilitation programs, and vocational rehabilitation programs,
as well as the final goal of this multiple rehabilitation model is to get the good quality of life for
clients with psychiatric disabilities. All participants were assessed by the professional teams and
assigned different rehabilitation programs of the multiple rehabilitation model. The cognitive
rehabilitation programs included individual and group intervention. Its content includes social skill
training, gymnastic and wellness courses, psycho education for family and participants,
work-training group, and outdoor or indoor recreational activities. Regarding its program
arrangement, except for traditional psychosocial rehabilitation, the model also provides vocational
training programs. It is difficult for clients with psychiatric disabilities to get jobs because of lots of
limitation in those clients, including poor work skills, poor adjustment skills and poor stress
management. The opportunities of employment can be increased through vocational rehabilitation
and vocational training programs. We can apply the results of this study in the future and to provide
better medical and vocational multiple rehabilitation model programs for clients with psychiatric
disabilities. In addition, this study also addressed the appropriate individual vocational
rehabilitation models and vocational training programs in order to increase the quality of vocational
training and to enhance the work skills of clients with psychiatric disabilities.
