How to Conduct Good Research and Get a Paper Published
Gavin Reynolds
Sheffield Hallam University, England, UK
Content: In this talk, which is intended to stimulate questions and discussion, I shall outline, with an
example, the approach to developing and carrying out a successful biomedical or clinical research
project from project conception through to publication. I shall also describe my personal perspective
on how best to prepare a research paper for publication in an international scientific journal, aimed
primarily at researchers whose first language is not English. I shall briefly cover all aspects from
deciding on the journal, writing and formatting the various sections of the paper, writing to the editor
and responding to the reviewers' comments.
