Jointer Clinical Trial in Psychiatric Teaching Hospital in Taiwan

Background/Objective: According to Taiwan national regulation that clinical trial should conducted
only in teaching hospitals to protect the subjects as well as investigators.

Method: Also there are 8 psychiatric teaching hospitals in Taiwan include 7 belong to government &
one private. Seven public psychiatric teaching hospitals locate from Taipei, New Taipei, Tau-yuan,
Nam-tau, Tainan, Kaohsiung & Easten Taiwan.

Result: Since 2011 Kaohsiung Kai-Syuan psychiatric hospital connect with Jianan Psychiatric
Center, Ministry of Health and welfare due to distance just nearby. Both centers joined meeting every
three months and also built up communication between two IRBs by exchanging members or invited
specialists. Two hospitals help each other & get into competition stage. Under the supervision of
Ministry of Health and welfare that our joined clinical trial centers became more famous and positive
competition in collecting cases too. After 2013 the other 4 psychiatric hospitals from north New
Taipei & Tau-yuan, east, and middle Taiwan joint this cooperation group, also sharing the SOPs as
well as improving the quality of trial too. Also these six centers now crossover to present & share
different topic as well as internal audit processes .

Conclusion: Also we try to improve our procedures by regular & irregular internal audit too. We will
show these processes to discuss the future plans.
